Tireless colleague Santosh Rai – who was recognised for his heroism tackling COVID-19 and overcame a family tragedy – has devoted 32 years of his life to EGA.
Primary aluminium will still be required to meet demand beyond mid-century, but the role of recycled aluminium is expected to grow. We are planning to build our first recycling facility in the UAE, and production ramp-up could begin as early as 2024. We expect to explore further opportunities in recycling in the years ahead.

The global scientific consensus is that we must limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius to avert the worst impacts of climate change, and that this requires net zero greenhouse gas emissions worldwide by mid-century. The United Arab Emirates has announced a national strategic initiative to reach net zero by 2050. EGA will play its part in meeting this challenge.
